Well I got home like 3 days ago and it feels great to be here. I am 22 days post op and im doing amazing im sort of eating too. I got 96 text messages and god only knows how many voicemails I haven’t even been able to check everything. I’m hoping to finish by the end of this week. I was given a totally awesome surprise party I lo0o0o0ove my boyfriend and friends. I will be adding more to this blog about when I got my drain out and my stitches out ttyl.

Well let me caught you guys up. I had surgery 2 days ago . Okay I’ll start from when I landed in the Dominican Republic till now.
August 31 10:10am land at Las Americas airport in Santo Domingo, DR
10:38 in the car on my way to the hospital (thats right straight from plan to hospital no pit stops no ice cream)
11:04 at the hospital getting checked in a wave of fear, terror and WTF comes over me.
11:09 I begin all the pre op test to see if they can even perfrom the surgery I cling to my mother as though I am 2 years old and I have my father running around speaking to everyone. Yes that’s right I had my parents by my side and my sisters bo0o0o0 to those who can not see when they need their parents.
1:12 pm all my blood work is done now im in my room sending my parents out to get my last meal.
2:00 they return with something I didn’t really want but who am I to complain
2:30 Nap
5:30 I am woken up to take a breath test
9:00pm end of visiting hours I have my youngest sister stay with me in the hospital to be my nurse and in case anything happens to me she’ll have to be the one to let everyone know , I can’t believe I put such a task on a 19 year old girl but she accepted and then told me to shut up.
September 1
4:30am I am awaken to breath in this cloudy air to relax my lungs before surgery
5:00am I’m off to surgery time
5:30 I’m on the table my last thoughts before going under is everything is going to be ok everything is going to be ok everything is going to be okay
10:11am I wake up in ICU and Im back to sleep
the next 10 hours are a fog of me in and out of sleep and pain
8:oopm I am finally told I can go to my private room and see my family
9:00pm visiting hours are over again and again I have a sister stay with me but this time my 23 year old sister to make sure I have some one to help me pee
September 2
I basically am in and out of sleep and walking around.
2:00pm I am released to my family and I sleep some more.
September 3
I’m up and about taking my medinices and drinking my protioned water and juice and taaadaaa I’m blogging.
Sorry this isn’t the most profound blog of post opness but I’m still getting my head together and I just wanted you guys to know I was okay. MUAH

Hello wonderful readers. Well I am having gastric surgery done in 8 days and I am officially freaking out. I have for the past 4 years thought every so often about getting surgery to help me with my my weight issues. I have been overweight for the past 15 years and this June I thought enough was enough I’m doing it, I’m changing my life forever. But today I realized that I am literally changing my whole life in one moment FOREVER. Holy mother Fing wow!!!! Am I really doing this , is this what it’s going to take, what the hell did time go 15years jeez I’ll never get that back.
Okay I’m sure you want to know what brought this on well I’ll tell you. I have always known that the surgery causes great scarifes in food and limitaions all around BUT I being the moron that I am didn’t investage the diet until today. There are 4 food stages I will be going thru from the day of my surgery to about 12 weeks later. WO0O0O0O0OW AHHHHHH Okay I’m back. Here are the stages:
Stage 1- clear liquids for the first 2 days(no sugar low cal no0o0o bubbles high protein)
Stage 2-full liquids for 2-3 weeks (protein shakes ensure carnation breakfast drink of course no or low sugar no0o0o bubbles etc)
Stage 3-(this is the stage that freaks me out) pureed foods (wtf) for about 2-3 weeks (baby food apple sauce pureed meat and vegetables
Stage 4-soft food for another 2-3 weeks (scrambled eggs boiled vegetables etc)
and finally after allllllllllll this then I’m back to normal solid food. It’s like I’m going thru infants all over again. I literally will be going from liquids thru a slow progression to solid foods as though being introduced to unlearning all the stupid habits I picked up along the way to make up for anything esle I lacked. I honestly wished with every ounce I have to lose that I didn’t have to do this but I feel like this is my last chance. IDK. So if there’s anyone out there who can benefit from my soon to be struggle I will be blogging it for everyone to see, I guess just wish me luck.

Laying down across your bed wishing you’d cave and get an a/c, I have an epiphany. You like it hot and sweaty, sticky and musky so that as soon as I enter your room I have to take off all my clothes. You love the fact that I crawl across your bed on my hands and knees begging for you to turn the fan on. If your looking for a a great restaurant that’s not impossible to get into then Fat Hippo is the place. It has a great brunch menu and dinner menu. The menu consist of comfort food classics to asian fusion, this menu can satisfy must tastes. Beside the modern decor with white leather banquettes surrounding the small yet warm environment Fat Hippo has great servers with positive attitudes. Now this place is one of my haunts, this isn’t one of those spoiled foodie brat reviews about a place they went to once and was disappointed because the waitress had to pee when they wanted a refill of their coffee. The food is interesting and absolutely delicious the service is attentive and the music is great. I recommend this place to everyone for any occasion but if you want me to be specific I’d say first dates, anniversaries, intimate birthday dinner, brunch with friends and so on. I rate Fat Hippo a strong 9 only because on rare occasion the music is a little loud and the waitress could be a little distracted other then that it’s one of my favorite places to eat.

Phillip B’s Drop Dead Straightening Baume is said to maintain straight hair styles and eradiciate frizz. I decided to put it to the test by straightening my hair on the must humid day of the summer . Actually I like to refer to this as the summer that never was due to weather conditions but I’m straying from my topic. I followed the directions and I must say it worked. My hair being the weather channel that it is I expected it to frizz immediately on contact with the outside world, but to my surprise it stayed sliky smooth and straight. My hair stayed in this beautiful state of straightness until I decided to have sex, then it all went to hell. Putting that aside I give this product a 7, it works, it leaves your hair soft, straight and shiny until phyisical activity.

Hair Rules is a product line created by stylist/writer Anthony Dickey (there’s also a book). It’s specially engineered for curly hair but can be used by anyone. Okay no0o0o0w here are my feelings on Hair Rules:
The entire line ranges from amazing products to ones you can more then live without. Here’s the good first, I honestly feel that the Daily cleansing cream (the lines No Poo Shampoo) and the Quench conditioner are absolutely the best on the market hands down. My rating on these two items is a solid 9.5 seriously it’s that good. They separately but better together make your hair soft, shiny, manageable and moisturized. Now on the other hand are the stlying products. Not nearly the same results. The curly whip is way to thick and sticky leaving a residue in your hair that only a clarfying shampoo can take out. The wavy mousse leaves your hair on the dry side looking dull and lifeless. The kinky cream isn’t to bad but isn’t great either. I give these three items a rating of a weak 4. Now right in the middle are the leave-in conditioner, grapefruit clarifying shampoo and hydrating finishing cream. These do an good to okay job they aren’t what I would say the best but they are honest they do the job they say they do on the bottle…. make sure to read the directions. I rate this at 6-7 (the leave-in being a 6, the finishing cream a 7 and the grapefruit shampoo falling in the middle.)
I would say get the No Poo and the conditioner everything else is at your own risk.
